Duane and Shirleen Hymas, a husband and wife photography team, are both native to Vancouver, Washington and have passionately followed photography as a hobby for the past nine years. Their photography careers really blossomed about five years ago when they were asked by an agent of Washington State Tourism to license some of their pictures for the state tourism website. Not long after that the local newspaper The Columbian did a story on them.
Their knowledge of little known Southwest Washington’s habitats allows them to produce unique landscape and wildlife shots of the region. While wildlife has been a major part of the team’s focus, landscapes, destination shots and people studies round out their portfolio.
Duane has the “artist eye”… always looking to get that unique perspective, always eager to try a different camera setting, always wanting to improve. Duane’s day job as a Website Administrator has given him formal training with Photoshop and years of experience optimizing photographs for website use.
Shirleen has a well-developed sense of timing, great composition skills and a natural sense of what people like to see in photographs. These qualities coupled with her dedication to always improve her photography, make her the perfect complement to Duane’s technical skills and artistic style. Their combined skills and dedication is what makes Team Hymas unique.
